Communications Advisor
- Salary: $92,332 - $104,762 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term role until 30 June 2024
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)

The primary focus of the Communications Adviser role is to contribute to the implementation of the LVA communications strategy, providing LVA teams with communications advice and support that ensures content and media aligns with the organisation's priorities. The Communication Adviser assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of LVA social media channels and the website. The position also involves the preparation of Ministerial briefings and the organisation of local events.
The position has the following key accountabilities but not limited to: * Assist with the development and implementation of an internal and external communication strategy that aligns to LVA's strategic direction.
- Provide communication advice, planning and support to the LVA and identify opportunities for alignment of communication activities with LVA and RSD priorities.
- Develop and deliver high-quality, accurate communication material to support ministerial opportunities or events advising on local issues and responses to media within required timeframes, maintaining strict confidentiality and in line with DJSIR's communication policies and processes.
- In collaboration with other Communications Team members, develop, implement and monitor web content, social media, advertising and event management to inform, capture and record local knowledge and sentiment on LVA transition work.
- Liaise with a range of stakeholders across the community and government to inform best communication practice when engaging with the region.
The position of Communications Advisor forms a part of the Latrobe Valley Authority branch in the Regional and Suburban Development group.
The Latrobe Valley Authority (LVA) was created to drive the strategic vision and priorities of government investment to improve outcomes for the Latrobe Valley community and ensure the social, economic and environmental future of the region is secured.
The LVA has adopted a place-based approach involving the community, business sector, education/research institutions and government to identify and agree on local opportunities and priorities. This will assist the region to both transition and transform.
