The Planning and Land Use Services Division within DTI manages the planning and land use system for South Australia. This includes planning and development, architecture, design, and land use to grow our economy and create more vibrant places for our communities.
The Role:
The key focus areas for this role include:
- provision of high-level writing and editorial services including publications, articles, fact sheets, web copy and newsletters, traditional and social media, online and digital channels
- provision of expert communications and engagement advice to support delivery of projects and communications campaigns
- development and implementation of communications and engagement plans as required
- development of communication materials, marketing collateral, public presentations, and e-newsletters for the State Planning Commission and PLUS
- coordinating external vendors (e.g., video production, graphic design, photography) to deliver communications and engagement products.
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- significant experience in stakeholder communications and engagement
- ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, internal and external to government
- contemporary knowledge of current theory and best practice in stakeholder communication and engagement, including an appreciation of the various ways technology can optimise engagement.
- high level organisational skill and proven ability to determine priorities, cope effectively with high volumes of work and to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated confidence in public speaking and facilitating engagement workshops and other engagement activities would also be desirable.
Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or a related discipline would be highly desirable as would knowledge of the IAP2 Public Participation Spectrum, qualifications and/or membership of IAP2.
Special Conditions
- Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
- This position will be offered on a term vacancy up to 26 April 2024.
ASO6 - $95,588 min - $101,109 max
