Job description

Make a meaningful difference with us:

We are looking for a Communications and Publications Specialist to join us on a contract basis. 
Start: ASAP
End: 28th June 2024 with a possibility of extension
Hours: Full time hours with hybrid working options available

Your Part in our UnitingCare team:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans
  • Create engaging content for various communications channels, including newsletters, website, social media platforms and marketing materials
  • Manage and maintain the website content, ensuring it is accurate, up to date and aligned with brand intention  
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media contacts, pitching stories and coordinating media coverage
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, identify communication needs and ensure consistent messaging
  • Develop and distribute internal communications
  • Prepare statements, manage inquiries and coordinate responses as needed
  • Measure and analyse effectiveness of communication efforts
  • Develop and maintain detail orientated suite of compliance reporting
  • Responsible for the development and preparation of the CEO and Annual Report
     

What makes a difference for us: 

The successful candidate will ideally present with: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism 
  • Experience in external or internal communications strategy development and implementation  
  • Proven experience of report development and writing.
  • Proficient with: Microsoft products, Content management systems and publishing software, Social media and monitoring platforms, Graphic design and production software
  • Conscientious worker with attention to detail.
  • Excellent, people focused communication skills.
