Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region in central Australia. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Directorate team are responsible for leading the executive management responsibilities of the organisation working in close consultation with elected Directors of NPY Women’s Council.
Alongside the corporate services teams, they deliver a professional business support service to the employees and clients of NPY Women’s Council.
With a new five-year strategic plan that puts operational excellence as a priority, this role will be a critical part of the team due to a number of exciting projects and organisation improvements.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are now recruiting for an Communications Officer. The Communications Officer works with the Communications Coordinator to implement NPYWC’s Brand and Communications Strategy. The role assists to develop an external voice for NPYWC and our members. This position collects content, viewpoints and stories from NPYWC programs, people and activities to share across social, print and digital channels.
This position supports the Communications Coordinator to manage donor and customer relationships, arrange media engagements and manage merchandise logistics.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal person will have proven skills and experience as an Communications Officer. With excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills you will be comfortable with prioritising competing demands.
The successful person will be eager to learn, be great at building relationships and have values that align to an Aboriginal Controlled Organisation.
