The Media, Marketing & Communications Officer will be responsible for all internal and external communications at Miwatj Health, including regular staff newsletters; articles on the Miwatj Health Intranet (“Milkumana”); website updates; media releases; and other communications as required. This is a collaborative role, reporting directly to the CEO. The Media, Marketing & Communications Officer will be responsible for Miwatj Health’s branding, ensuring that the Corporation is marketed and advocated for with consistency and in line with our vision and values.Successful applicants will have access to a range of benefits, including:
- Competitive annual salary of $103,826 - $116,069 per annum and 11% superannuation
- Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment
- Darwin City or Nhulunbuy base
- 6 weeks annual leave (if Nhulunbuy-based) or 5 weeks annual leave (if Darwin-based) + 17.5% leave loading

Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region.
Essential RequirementsThe Media, Marketing &
Communications Officer must have Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field (Media, Communications, Journalism,
Marketing and/or Digital Marketing) and at least three to five years’ experience in a similar position. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to, Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings. Graphic design and/or desktop publishing skills will be required and the ability to communicate accurately and effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders is essential. This is a full-time position and will involve some travel to East Arnhem Land via light aircraft.
