OVERVIEW

The Centre for People, Place & Planet (CPPP) is a Strategic Research Centre at Edith Cowan University with a vision to reconnect people, ecosystems, and place-based knowledges for universal well-being. We are currently seeking a Communications Officer to help implement our strategic communications plan and drive awareness among internal and external audiences. This position more broadly is responsible for: 

  • Manage the CPPP website, including writing, editing, and updating content in the Content Management System and sourcing appropriate graphics and images. 
  • Write and produce a quarterly internal email newsletter in MailChimp or Outlook. 
  • Track and report on communications metrics and suggest opportunities for optimisation and further development.  
  • Help to set the strategic direction for and manage CPPP social media (LinkedIn), while ensuring adherence to ECU social media policies and best practices. 

ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have:
  • A degree or working towards a degree in a relevant discipline and/or significant relevant professional experience at a similar level.
  • Demonstrated track record in implementing communications strategies from the ground up. 
  • In addition to your practical skills in social media, email marketing, and website content management, you are highly organised, detail oriented, and able to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team. 
  • Shares the centre's core values of reconnecting people, ecosystems, as well as place-based and Indigenous knowledges to promote universal well-being.


You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.

Benefits & Remuneration
This part-time 0.4 FTE (2 Days per week), fixed term position until 31st December 2024 attracts remuneration of $81,614 to $90,691pa (pro rata) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
