We do this while respecting our past, respecting the balance of historic and cultural heritage and the natural environment, and learning from our stories.The Principal Policy and Communications Officer oversees, guides and contributes to the review, development, implementation and evaluation of heritage and property related policies, procedures and guidelines to support the administration of relevant legislation and other reform activities in Western Australia, ensuring effective state-wide consultation with all stakeholders.This is an open pool recruitment process for permanent full-time, and fixed term full-time opportunities. Suitable applicants will be placed in a Pool from which appointments may be made for similar vacancies for a period of 12 months.Located in Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate (assessment criteria):
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing significant and complex policy development, review, consultation, implementation and evaluation within a public sector context.
- Flexibility, initiative and sound judgement when making decisions in complex and challenging circumstances, with the ability to negotiate outcomes and deliver on priorities.
- Ability to develop and promote an overall vision for the effective development and delivery of strategic policy in line with governmental, stakeholder and broader community values.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and/or cultural heritage and contemporary issues impacting the management and conservation of Aboriginal and/or cultural heritage in Western Australia.
- Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context of Leading Others as outlined below.
