About the Company
Our large NSW State Government client works to protect the health & safety of the NSW public by managing complaints about health practitioners and students. They work collaboratively with the Health Care Complaints Commission to decide the best way a complaint should be managed. In managing a complaint they would with the practitioner to raise their level of professional performance and to ensure professional standards are maintained.
About the Role
They are currently seeking a Communications Officer to join their team, working remotely from home and attending Parramatta Office once a week. This is an estimated 4-month temporary assignment, with a potential to extend.

Working within the Biodiversity, Conservation & Science Division, you will be required to provide specialist advice & deliver science communication products for the Koala Science projects to achieve organisational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communications plans to promote and support the Koala Science initiatives
- Undertake research and identifying areas for continuous improvement
- Synthesise and articulate complex technical information into plain English
- Provide editorial input to ensure message consistency and alignment with business requirements
- Plan, source, research, write, edit, proofread, prepare and coordinate the distribution of materials Design and deliver engaging content, suitable for varied audiences, raising awareness
- Preparation of innovative communication material including articles, publications, presentation material, newsletters, website information and annual reports
- Produce communication content for multiple platforms including social media
- Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, facilitating collaboration, partnerships, information sharing, engagement and contribution of ideas
About you
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Strong computer literacy skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Solid analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
Requirements
- Tertiary Qualifications in Communications, Journalism or an equivalent field
- Science, Biodiversity or Conservation subject matter experience advantageous
- Demonstrated Communications experience
- Reliable remote internet access with the ability to work independently from home
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
