Job description

  • 7 month contract; part-time 4 days per week
  • Parramatta location + WFH
  • $85 per hour + superannuation
  • Broad Corporate Communications role  
Leading NSW Government department are seeking a Senior Corporate Communications Officer to join their collaborative team.
  
You will be responsible for:
  • Deliver discrete communications projects in support of communications priorities
  • Website refresh project
  • Media and issues management planning
  • Plan and deliver key communications initiatives and including associated project management— with a focus on a website refresh, media planning and branding protocols
  • Lead coordination of brand exemption application and creation of supporting assets as part of project, including contributing to development of new photo library
  • Review website content and associated materials as part of wider website update project
  • Review and introduce new frameworks to website and other channels, including cultural protocols
  • Create updated website content with input from key stakeholders
  • Create, monitor and update information on the website to keep our audiences up to date
  • Create project and implementation plans to support all communications work
  •  Work in partnership with creatives to revise communications assets.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure website content is fit for purpose.
  • Plan and create a range of supporting communications for the website
  • Review and coordinate update to communications protocols to ensure strong positioning
  • Develop dynamic plans, with a focus on media/issues management, to effectively tell the story of the department’s various workstreams (and department-wide communication strategy)
  • Support initiatives relating to media planning / issues management, such as proactive media plan/outreach, sourcing and supporting of speaker opportunities for the department at industry events etc.
  • Contribute to the development of the Annual Report
  • Analyse and review existing communications to inform improvements
  
You will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related discipline
  • Proven Corporate Communications experience working in a similar role
  • Experience in coordinating website reviews / improvements.
  • Experience briefing designers and creatives
  • Experience in coordinating / contributing to Annual Reports
  • Understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs and attitudes and of the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society, and of their impacts in relation to housing
  • Experience working with First Nations organisations, stakeholders and community members
  • CMS skills, including Drupal
  •  Advanced capability within Office 365 environment
