We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiatic and passionate Chef/Cook to join our Grampian Therapeutic Community located Ballarat East on a permanent part-time basis working 25 hours per week.

The opportunity

Directly accountable to the Team Leader, the Chef/Cook is working within the community to provide meals of the highest quality in accordance with our Program. As the Community Chef/Cook you will be responsible for and not limited to:

• Provide seasonal meals in line with the Windana menu
• Assist and guide residents during meal preparation and cooking with hands-on support and application
• Manage food quality, portion control and presentation for special events including community events and formal occasions
• Work collaboratively with members of the team and residents of the program
• Maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness.

The person we're looking for will have:

• Demonstrated experience working as a Chef/Cook and preparing meals, preferably in a residential setting
• Sound knowledge of the Food Safety Guide and regulations
• A passion for cooking and creating hearty, healthy meals
• Hands on leadership approach and ability to foster safe spaces, creativity and respect
• Excellent organisational skills, communication skills and the ability to work within a team
• Trade qualification and/or extensive experience in a comparable role
• An understanding of financials i.e. budget control and inventory management.
