• Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
• Both Day Shifts (9.00 am - 5.00 pm) and Afternoon Shifts (2.00 pm - 10.00 pm) are available
• Potential Saturday, Sunday and public holiday rosters are available on request
• The role is based in Murarrie QLD 4172

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.Reporting to the Team Leader, the role will focus on the following duties:

• Sample receipt and documentation
• Computer login of client and sample details
• Sample weighing and allocation
• Processing of food, water, soil, cosmetics, air and environmental samples for chemical and/or microbiological analysis
• Computer input analysis results
• Performance of simple analysis culture reading
• Performance of equipment quality control and maintenance
• Assisting office staff when required
• Assisting with laboratory's store management system.
• Ensuring an efficient and on-time sample flow in and out of the laboratory.
• Assisting with the control of samples and supplies in all laboratory areas.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory equipment and materials.

QualificationsCertificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.About YouTo be successful for this position, you will need to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics:

• Experience in a laboratory will be an advantage but not essential.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment on tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

On the job training will be provided, along with the use of our systems and programs.
