Corrective Services NSW

Location - Taree Community Corrections

Employment type - Ongoing 35 hours per week (Flexible working hours)

Salary -$139,787 - $161,663pa, plus super and leave loading (Clerk Grade 11/12)

Your role

As a Community Corrections Service Manager, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team, identify individual strengths, and create better outcomes. We seek applicants committed to ethical and inclusive leadership, team wellness, and cohesiveness. Align with the values of Service, Trust, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect.

You will have a commitment to building a culturally capable workforce and to strengthening relationships between Community Corrections and local services particularly the local Aboriginal community, so we are better equipped to address the challenges of reducing over-representation of Aboriginal people within our service system.

Community Corrections work with adults subject to court mandated orders. We collaborate with other agencies and community partners and seek to restore people’s dignity, to promote agency and self-determination and to enable reintegration.

What you’ll do

Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, overseeing caseloads, workload management, and quality assurance to ensure standardization.

Coach and mentor staff, provide operational advice, and drive quality work performance and continuous improvement strategies within budget and quality standards in a smaller Community Corrections office.

Manage business requirements related to service delivery for a diverse offender base, subject to different legislative conditions, including electronic monitoring, domestic violence, multi-agency interface, and various functional/operational programs.

What we’re looking for

Strong leadership skills, including engaging and motivating staff, and previous experience in providing professional supervision, development, and coaching.

Skills and confidence to provide clear and constructive feedback to promote individual accountability and develop staff capability.

Flexible and resilient, to respond to the varied demands of a Community Corrections Office and manage complex and higher risk offenders.

The ability to identify, develop and building relationships with key stakeholders in the community.

Have thorough knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system and contemporary best practice in offender management within Community Corrections.

Previously employed as a Community Corrections Officer would be beneficial.
