Job description

About us

Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do – and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.

We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.

That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW – you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

The Division

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

About the role

The primary purpose of the role is to assist in the development and delivery of a full range of effective internal and external strategic stakeholder engagement services and programs. This includes supporting the development and delivery of internal and external strategic engagement to ensure stakeholders and customers have access to consistent, accurate, relevant, and timely information.

Ideally based out of the North Coast (Grafton), this role is expected to provide services across community consultation, communications and engagement strategies, customer information, and issues management.

About you

A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans while providing support in the delivery through events, workshops, and community consultation activities. Expertise in writing comprehensive messaging with the ability to translate and tailor complex information to suit diverse stakeholder groups.

Proven experience in the management of stakeholder issues, liaising with media units, customer enquiries, and acting as an interface for various projects or programs is key to your success in this role. Ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Transport for NSW initiatives and have experience in supporting highly sensitive projects in a matrix structure embedded within the program office.

We are looking for a passionate, pragmatic & collaborative champion of good customer service who can develop and deliver outstanding communication and stakeholder initiatives. Your ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced ever-changing environment, along with your highly effective collaborative relationships will see you excel in this role and beyond.
