THE ROLEThe Technical Operations team within the Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking a suitably qualified Technical Officer with an electronics/mechatronics background, to provide technical and operational support across the laboratory teaching and research of the School of Engineering.Reporting to the School Technical Manager you will be actively engaged in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of teaching and research laboratories through the provision of high-quality technical support, particularly in the areas of electronics and mechatronics. You will contribute to the output of the school through the testing, maintenance, and efficient day-to-day management of teaching and research equipment. You will prepare teaching materials and equipment, setup and provide technical support to undergraduate classes, and provide technical support to research laboratories. You will have the opportunity to utilise your working knowledge of engineering equipment as well as health and safety by assisting with technical queries, delivering laboratory inductions, and training users on equipment.About You.You will have completed a degree or an advanced diploma in electronics/mechatronics engineering or in a closely related discipline. You will have experience in 3D printing and be able to troubleshoot and resolve related issues. You have good problem-solving skills especially in relation to technical and experimental issues and are able to work independently and adapt to be part of a high performing team in support of academics and students.
