About the rolePart-time fixed term; hybrid opportunity for 12 months (3 days per week) based in Battery Point TAS. Reporting directly to the National Manager Dementia Friendly Communities you will be responsible for:Encourage and empower communities to be inclusive of and value the contributions of people living with dementia.Coordinate and deliver community forums and workshops to connect key stakeholders for creating dementia-friendly communities.Identify and actively support communities to establish action groups to engage individuals living with dementia, their carers, and key stakeholders in implementing and facilitating local initiatives, programs, and activities.Identify and collaborate with special needs groups, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTIQ, Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander people, and people living in rural/remote areas and isolated communities to provide appropriate tailored support.Demonstrate a strong commitment to a quality culture, implementing standards of excellence and a continuous improvement focus.What is in it for you?Salary benefits: We offer all employees the opportunity to salary package up to $15,900 each year for living expenses and up to $2,650 each year for entertainment benefits.Leave allowances: In addition to an annual leave allowance of 20 days (pro-rated if part time), you will also receive three days paid end of year closure leave, one day paid birthday leave, up to six weeks parental leave and 17.5% annual leave loading.Work/life balance: Flexible, hybrid work arrangements.Employee benefits: Access to discounts and savings at over 450 retailers across Australia. Wellbeing programs and access to free and confidential counselling sessions for you and your family.About youTo be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:Extensive knowledge of dementia and its impact on the person living with dementia and their families and carers.Demonstrated ability in delivering high quality presentations, workshops and information sessions utilising effective group facilitation skills.Experience building collaborative relationships with community organisations, advocates, and key stakeholders to develop innovative, inclusive, and consumer-informed services, projects, and programs in community settings.Commitment to continuous improvement.Exceptional organisation, self-direction, and communication skills.Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Community Development / health / allied health / social sciences) with 1-2 years relevant experience (desirable).Our values Diversity and Equality Respect and Inclusiveness Integrity and Accountability About usDementia Australia is the source of trusted information, education and services for the estimated half a million Australians living with dementia, and the almost 1.6 million people involved in their care.
