The City of South Perth (the City) is seeking applications from candidates to undertake a temporary parental leave cover (of up to 12 months) for the position of Community Development Officer (Youth and Children) to join the Community Culture and Recreation Business Unit.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing towards creating a vibrant and enriched local community through researching, developing and implementing you and children development programs, services and events primarily in the areas of:
- Youth 10-25
- Children 0-10 years including Early Years Network (Children 0-6 years); and
- General community development and related projects
To be successful in this position you need to demonstrate;
- Diploma of youth work, community services or similar
- Demonstrated experience working with young people
- Experience in developing, implementing and evaluation programs and projects
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with the public / community organisations
- Experience with developing and acquitting funding submissions
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Well-developed personal computer and associated software skills
- Knowledge of and/or experience in local government
- Knowledge of risk management practices
- Current 'C' class drivers licence
- Working with Children Check
- Ability to work outside office hours, weekends and public holidays when required
This temporary full time position is a level 5 which attracts a salary of $75,228 - $86,594 gross per annum plus superannuation.
