The Role
Are you passionate about regional Community Development? The Town of Port Hedland (Town) is looking for an experienced professional leader to join the Youth and Community Development department on a permanent full-time basis. We are looking for an experienced, professional leader to manage the design and delivery of the Town's strategic plans such as:
- Community Development Plan,
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Plan, and
- Access and Inclusion Plan.
As Senior Environmental Health Officer, you will leverage your experience in community engagement and Community Development to actively engage with our community implementing innovative and effective engagement strategies to build positive relations between the Town and its stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading the Community Development Team to respond to new and emerging challenges, supporting their professional development, and have deep knowledge of, and commitment to implementing a collective impact framework.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- National Police Clearance.
- Current 'C' class driver's license.
- Rights to work in Australia.
- Minimum five years' experience in community engagement or development in a large company or government.
- Strong experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating projects, events, or community campaigns.
- Tertiary degree in Community Development, social sciences, communications, or another relevant field.
