The Community Engagement worker supports engagement in treatment to reduce the impact of problematic drug and alcohol use, prevent relapse, address lifestyle issues to encourage adherence to drug and alcohol treatment goals and to improve the psychosocial status of the person. Providing assertive follow up to community-based referrals, and work to identify and address barriers to accessing treatment as part of a multidisciplinary drug and alcohol team.

If you have:
- Tertiary qualifications and where applicable, membership of the relevant association or registration with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapist, Psychology, Nursing. Professionals who fall under the Health Professionals State Award will be employed at Level 1 or must provide evidence of three years' clinical experience in their profession to be appointed at a Level 2
- Demonstrated experience in providing drug and alcohol interventions, including, but not limited to, screening, assessment, brief intervention, case management, contributing to treatment and discharge planning, referral, group work and community follow up
- Comprehensive understanding of, and demonstrated social intervention experience in the social and emotional needs of patients/clients with Alcohol and Other Drugs issues, such as housing, Centrelink, finance etc
