We have an exciting opportunity to join a Federal Government team in Newcastle in their Communications and Engagement team. If you have experience in engagement and would like a chance to move into a Federal Government position, read on!
What's involved?
APS5:
- Coordinating co-design working groups, workshops and other events.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to prepare co-design materials.
- Maintaining relationships with relevant key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
- Working as part of a high performing team to effectively engage with people with disability, their families and carers.
- Representing the organisation at external forums and events, providing information and guidance to people with disability, participants and the wider community.
- Delivering clear, concise and effective messaging to people with disability, their families and carers as well as other community stakeholders.
- Managing a shared inbox, acting as a point of escalation for the triaging of enquiries and requests.
- Coordinating critical data analysis and feedback to measure effectiveness of activities and strategies, including identifying associated risks and trends.
- Contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of targeted engagement strategies and align to the broader engagement strategy and frameworks, with branch and divisional business plans.
- Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the organisations participation in a diverse range of engagement activities and events, including stakeholder meetings, information sessions, forums, conferences and webinars.
- Previous Community Engagement experience.
- Ability to influence effective Community Engagement program design and delivery by researching and identifying the specific issues, needs and interests of target audiences.
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of stakeholder engagement, including meeting programmes, responding to relevant stakeholder enquiries, and stakeholder mapping.
- Understanding the IAP2 engagement spectrum in the human services context.
- Ability to presentation to a small group of stakeholders.
- Desirable - Project Management skills/experience and understanding of accessibility.
Specific role details:
- APS5 contracts: 6 months with potential extension, $55.24 per hour + super
- APS6 contracts: 12 months with potential extension, $60.26 per hour + super
- 37.5 standard hours per week
- Starting mid-end May
- You must be an Australian Citizen to apply
- This is a temporary contract, no leave entitlements apply
- If successful you will be asked to undergo a police check and hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check
