Reporting to the General Manager - Community Engagement & Social Impact, this position will ensure the project remains accessible and accountable to the community, while driving understanding, awareness and support for the construction project and future operating airport. You’ll develop and deliver initiatives that encompass a range of communication and engagement activities designed to provide information to the community to deepen their understanding about the project. Adopting a proactive approach, the aim is to positively contribute towards reputational management enabling WSA to deliver on its purpose of generating social and economic prosperity. Strong leadership is paramount in building relationships across the organisation (including delivery partners and other contractors) through an open and honest communication approach inclusive of community members to establish solid communication regarding milestones and the impact of the Airport’s construction and operations. The role will develop partnerships that ensures the Western Sydney community benefits from the opportunities the airport will create, including support of events, briefings and presentations to inform the

community. This is a 12-month maximum term position - beyond then WSI will continue to be a place of real opportunity. Key responsibilities Championing safety as a priority, be familiar with WSI’s safety management systems continually looking for opportunities to improve safety of the team and others. Leading a strategic Community Engagement agenda commensurate with WSI’s significance as

a

catalyst for social and economic prosperity for the Western

Sydney. Leading, enabling and supporting direct reports to guide and mentor the team to achieve agreed accountabilities and outstanding results aligned to the organisations strategic priorities and

values. Building and delivering WSI’s social licence through authentic and trustworthy engagement, fostering positive relationships and creating a network of advocates for the project. Engaging with other WSI Corporate Affairs leaders to influence strategy development and initiatives that build social licence and support for the project. Strategic reputation management to ensure Community Engagement proactively addresses risk and controls, and consistently deliver positive reputational outcomes. Facilitating strong partner relationships and representing WSI to our partners and the community. Support planning and delivery of high-quality community events, prioritising safety and leveraging event opportunities that positively build the reputation of the project and organisation. Leveraging your experience in contractor relations to ensure strong collaboration between major works contractors and WSA’s Community Engagement teams. Facilitating WSI’s compliance with regulatory requirements for community and stakeholder engagement Contributing to the development of Construction Environmental Management Plans to ensure they are supported by strong Community Engagement . Develop and manage the team plans, budgets and risk management, consistent with WSI’s corporate plans. This includes controlling and monitoring costs, review and improve business systems and processes, and report as required on activities, performance, trends and issues. About You Extensive experience (5 years) in leading Community Engagement in major construction / infrastructure projects. Tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience in Community Engagement

&

communications. Demonstrable experience in planning, designing and delivering robust Community Engagement practices and plans from construction through to operations. Ability to exercise sound judgement and develop Community Engagement strategies in a rapidly changing environment. A commercial mindset – delivering on agreed priorities, adapting to change and being flexible in approach. Providing advice and recommendations on key issues in a concise and timely manner that recognises the impact of project-related reputational issues on the community. Ensuring WSA’s Community Engagement outcomes meet regulatory requirements. Demonstrated experience in building, leading and developing high performing teams, demonstrating a growth

mindset with agility and outcome focused solutions. Demonstrated project management and planning skills to monitor and deploy agreed activities in a timely manner. Strong communication and engagement skills, with a focus on translating complex and technical information into accessible and digestible information. Ability to manage expectations and ensure achievement of agreed deadlines and be able to work in a complex environment. Current Drivers licence is essential

with

ability to travel and work outside of core business

hours. Current White

similar).
