This exceptional not-for-profit organisation helps women reclaim their financial independence through facilitating free training that allows them to build new skills and then guaranteeing their employment. They achieve this through facilitating a peer led support model that is the “glue” that enables women to not only attain a qualification, but to transition with confidence, and retain their employment, once they commence.
The Role
Your focus will be to develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, key of which will be women, but also community members, local organisations, and government entities. This role requires creativity, initiative, and a commitment to promoting positive change within the community by encouraging women to participate in the organisation’s programs. This will involve community outreach, stakeholder engagement, program development, community education, advocacy, reporting and evaluation, compliance and communication.
What You Will Need
- Diploma in a relevant field such as community development, social work, sociology, or communications or equivalent suitable and relevant experience in communications, media, or public relations.
- Previous experience in Community Engagement, outreach, or related fields preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local community dynamics, resources, and issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong organisational ability with attention to detail
- Microsoft office applications, MS365, Word, Excel, Xero
- Able to adjust to changing business needs (pivot)
- Current Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check
