Our client is looking for a Community Engagement Specialist to join their team in Greater Western Sydney.
This position would be perfect for someone who has a minimum of 3 years Community Engagement experience, preferably in either the Government or Not For Profit Sector.
Please note you have to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident for this position.
Your new role
Our client is looking for specific Engagement Skills, building relationships is essential in this position. You will be working with a number of stakeholders across the business working a wide range of projects including Youth Engagement, National Areas (Nature Strategy), Crime Prevention Plans.
Travel is part of the role, there may be some after-hours included that will be compensated) within the immediate local government area, not the wider district.
- Develop and implement stakeholder management strategies aligned to project deliverables
- Establish strong working relationships with internal project teams to provide advice
- Facilitate a proactive approach to engaging with project stakeholders, including community representatives and groups
- Support and upskill staff to conduct community consultation initiatives and campaigns
- Support teams to deliver or assist with engagement activities by providing leadership, guidance and technical advice
- Develop and deliver creative solutions to share information, engage with staff and meet the organisations strategic objectives
- Develop and monitor budget for Community Engagement activities
- Assist staff to write, edit and produce material for Community Engagement campaigns
- Collate information and feedback for use of internal staff
- Manage contractors and working groups to deliver Community Engagement activities
- Take photographs and videos at community consultation events and activities as needed
- Identify community/cultural needs and trends and report regularly to the Communications and Marketing Coordinator
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant or related tertiary qualification or extensive job-related experience Demonstrated, substantial experience with successful Community Engagement programs
- Demonstrated understanding of best practice Community Engagement principles and methodology
- Demonstrated experience with developing Community Engagement plans including a variety of innovative engagement methods to reach a diverse community
- Demonstrated experience and excellent skills in writing for and using digital platforms including online Community Engagement platforms to effectively engage with the community
- Proven experience of building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders including establishing, maintaining and facilitating effective reference or working groups
- Current Class C driver licence
- IAP2 certification - Desirable
