About the role
This Position sits within the Health Care Team within the broader AOD Response team. This position will provide clinical and non-clinical primary health and psychosocial interventions, health counselling and health promotion/education programs, individually or in groups, for people who inject drugs.

Your duties include:
- Provide nursing services both onsite and on an outreach basis according to need
- Work in conjunction with specialist medical and allied health service providers who may visit Health Works to deliver their respective health care services
- Providing assistance to team members in their delivery of clinical services
- Ensuring ethical, responsible and professional goal directed, client focused services are provided
- Providing referrals to clients where appropriate to the other services provided by AOD Response specifically, cohealth generally, as well as appropriate external referrals

Our ideal candidate:
- Registered Nurse Division 1 with current practicing registration with AHPRA
- Proof of qualification to be sighted
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of Harm Reduction especially as it applies to people who inject drugs;
- Ability to work as a part of a team and a clear understanding of effective team work;
All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses). Additionally, some roles will also require current AHPRA registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
