The Role: Community Hub Coordinator
City of Playford’s Community Hub isn’t your average community centre. We’re a vibe and a space where everyone is celebrated for being their awesome selves. From epic functions and events to slam-dunk basketball, futsal showdowns and making healthy eating a new trend, we’re shaping the future of wellbeing for Playford with flair and innovation.
As the Coordinator of our Community Hub, you’ll be the driving force behind leading and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the John McVeity Centre (JMC), the Precinct and Healthy Food Co sites. This is your chance to blend your passion with purpose, to drive creativity and innovation across a range of awesome services to create an experience like no other for our community.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll be the MVP of creating an atmosphere that makes everyone feel like they can be their awesome selves, lace up their sneakers and join the game.
- Connect with leading players in community sporting to turn our space into the talk of Playford by bringing together clubs, athletes, and fans to shape the way for future sporting legends to emerge.
- Dream up and execute health and wellbeing programs that are inclusive and accessible for everyone.
- Lead our wellness warriors and share your passion for making healthy eating accessible and delicious.
- Develop and implement strategies to boost community engagement and healthy habits.
- Stay on the pulse of what’s hot to bring new trends to the Community Hub.
- Turn feedback into fuel for constant improvement.
- Previous leadership experience to help you with getting some quick wins on the board.
- An openness to doing things differently with a flair for creativity.
- Excellent communication skills – emojis and gifs welcome.
- Ability to juggle responsibilities like a pro, without breaking a sweat.
- Charisma, innovation, and fun to create a workplace where the team thrive, and success feels like a natural part of the journey.
- Previous experience in community development or sports and an ability to make healthy food taste good is a bonus.
