The Opportunity 

As the Community Infrastructure Projects Planner, you’ll produce plans and designs for the development of public open spaces, community facilities and infrastructure including reserves, parks and playgrounds, pathways, trails and sporting infrastructure. 

You’ll take projects from idea stage right through to design and delivery, ensuring projects are fit for purpose and meet community needs both now and in future. 

Some things you’ll find yourself responsible for may include: 

  • Managing the development of key community and recreation capital projects 
  • Undertaking research to inform project development, decision making and cost benefit analysis 
  • Engaging with stakeholders and community groups 
  • Preparation of grant submissions and reporting 

This is a permanent full-time role and is based from the Kalimna West Depot. 

Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria) 
  • Tertiary qualification in open space planning/recreation planning and / or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of master plans, concept plans, management plans and landscape designs including urban areas.  
  • High level community engagement experience, in particular in relation to the development and planning of Infrastructure Projects
  • Capacity to work autonomously in challenging community-based environments. 
  • A sound understanding of asset management principles as they relate to Community Infrastructure, and the ability to apply these to the planning of Infrastructure Projects
  • Demonstrated ICT skills and an ability to use a range of packages and systems. 
  • A current, valid Victorian driver’s license 

If successful, you will need to undertake a police check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
