The CNC2/Senior Allied Health Community Mental Health Clinician provides intensive community based Mental Health interventions for women with major mental illness during the perinatal period and an advanced nursing/allied health service as an expert in the Community Mental Health specialty field and facilitates linkages and relationships with Local Health District nurses/midwives, multidisciplinary teams and medical officers to support patient management.
Providing assessment, care planning and review of patients in collaboration with the primary service providers to ensure that evidence based practice is utilised. The CNC2/Senior Allied Health clinician is responsible for the provision of expert clinical advice, coordination, leadership and consultancy services within the defined catchment area and target populations within Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD).
Maternity Leave
This vacancy is maternity leave relief for an initial period of up to 20 weeks for 38 hours per week; the hours and period of employment may change according to the maternity leave requirements. There is also the possibility of an extension at same / reduced hours.
If you have:
- Tertiary qualifications and, where applicable, membership of the relevant association or registration with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Social Work, Occupational Therapist, Psychology, Nursing. To be appointed to a specific discipline and grade/level, please refer to the Essential Requirements section for registration and qualification requirements
- Proven clinical expertise and leadership skills in Perinatal Infant Mental Health service provision and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework demonstrating commitment to excellence in Clinical Practice
- The ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence based research
- Proven advanced skills in clinical teaching and coaching, competency in the use of contemporary information
