Community Programs Manager – Position Summary
This is an integral position critical to the success and impact of our youth mentoring programs in regional communities. This position will be the regions voice and champion, providing insights and recommendations to Raise teams on how to increase our reach in that community.
This position will create awareness of Raise Foundation and its programs in the local community, support and grow local partnerships with community and business groups, support the training of volunteer mentors and work to engage schools in Raise youth mentoring programs and, facilitate youth mentoring programs within schools.
This is a casual position, responsible for the delivery of four Raise youth mentoring programs in four secondary schools in and near Launceston. The position is for 10 - 15 hours per week, commencing in November 2023.
This is a multifaceted role with two main objectives.
1. Provide professional support to mentees and mentors in the Raise mentoring program so they have a positive experience of mentoring and achieve successful outcomes.
2. Be the community champion for Raise and grow our presence within local high schools in this region.
Skills and Experience
Relevant Degree qualifications in counselling, youth work, social work, psychology or Diploma qualifications in these fields with at least 2 years of relevant work experience
Certification IV in training and prior facilitation experience
An outstanding ability to engage and motivate mentees, mentors, school staff and other stakeholders to facilitate successful outcomes of the program
An interest and experience in speaking at public events and community group meetings
An interest in identifying funding opportunities within the community
Experience with supporting, counselling and engaging young people
Experience managing groups and conducting professional group supervision
Comprehensive understanding of Mandatory Reporting requirements for working with young people
Minimum 25 years of age in line with professional experience requirements
Completion of Raise selection process including appropriate WWC and National Crime Checks
Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills
Excellent administration skills and organisational ability
Excellent IT skills including Office365 and cloud-based document sharing
Ability to meet minimum requirements for contact with Raise staff team and key stakeholders
