Community Programs Coordinator

We are seeking a dynamic individual for a permanent role with a growing well regarded Community Housing provider in the greater Sydney region.

In this role, you will be a pivotal figure in fostering connections and sharing vital information among diverse stakeholders. Your primary focus will be on enhancing awareness of the myriad partnerships, supports, and services available to various communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing community-oriented strategies to ensure that programs and initiatives are tailored to meet the evolving needs of residents and the wider community.
• Cultivating partnerships with external organizations to bolster support services and track progress.
• Collaborating closely with Tenancy Managers and the Sustainable Tenancies team to promote active participation in projects and events.
• Facilitating regular meetings with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents, support providers, and stakeholders to foster dialogue and monitor project progress.
• Engaging with employees and stakeholders to pinpoint areas for improvement in marketing and outreach efforts directed at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Providing support to the Community Programs Team as needed.

Essential Criteria: 

• Be of Aboriginal descent and identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
• 3+ years experience in relationship management and/or community development, engagement, and sustainment
• Have prior experience in the community housing sector or other relevant human services sector (desirable)
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills and preparation of written documents such as reports and proposals
• A current driver’s license valid in the state of NSW
• 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
• Subject to a satisfactory police check and WWCC
