Job description

The Role:

The main purpose of this role is to support the Community Leader and the Sisters of ISMAPNG Community by cultivating relationships and deliver specific professional and administrative services.

The Community Support Assistant will liaise, under the direction of the Community Leader, with service providers and other staff of ISMAPNG to attain the required outcomes and will be a key interface with sisters within the community.

Your Responsibilities:

As the Community Support Assistant, you will be tasked with a number of duties and responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Providing a high level of administrative support, including managing correspondence, diary management, authorising requests or documents, filtering phone calls, filing etc
  • Preparing and distributing community correspondence, including newsletters, bulk mail outs and materials and booklets for community events, including celebrations, funerals and community gatherings
  • Assisting the Community Leader to meet the compliance needs of the Institute
  • Working closely with and in collaboration with other Community Support Assistants and Administration Assistants
  • Assisting the Community Leader to keep track of expenses
  • Checking invoices to ensure work or services have been provided to a satisfactory standard, code and authorise invoices for payment
  • Distributing credit card statements to Sisters in the Community.
  • Assisting Sisters with technology related enquiries and/or the Institute’s sisters IT support team  
  • Assisting Sisters with minor property matters
  • Being the point of contact for other professional services matters which may need to be referred direct to a member of the specialised professional services team
  • Organising and communicating programmed maintenance for the region
  • Working additional hours as required; in particular, to backfill when their colleague is on leave
Your Capabilities:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong general administration experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • A courteous, efficient, personable and professional manner
  • The ability to build and nurture relationships with people at all levels
  • The ability to understand minor property maintenance issues and the ability to coordinate rectification thereof
  • A pro-active approach with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Strong skills and experience working with MS Office 

Located in Phillip, this Job Share position is a maximum 2-year contact, working 2 days per week, Wednesday & Thursday 9am – 3pm, and is available for an immediate start.  A salary commensurate with your experience is on offer and parking is available onsite.
