About the role:
This exciting role will work to support vulnerable people accessing our services in the Alice Springs Court.
As a member of Social Support team and under the supervision of the Social Support Practice Lead, you will work alongside staff in the Alice Springs office to ensure that barriers are removed, clients are supported, and our services are culturally sound.
About you:
We are seeking a Community Support Officer (CSO) with an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and the challenges affecting this client group, their families and communities living in the Alice Springs region. The successful applicant will have experience working in the region and will be committed to identifying and breaking down barriers that exist for vulnerable people accessing our service.
You will be an important member of a small team, which relies on relationships and team work to succeed. Essential qualities include relational skills, as well as the ability to effectively connect with vulnerable individuals, particularly those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This position is identified for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is intended to constitute a special measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) and section 57 of the Anti-Discrimination Act (NT).
