About the role
We will give everyone in our community an opportunity to engage services to improve wellness, access and independence, and play a crucial role as part of Western Sydney's aged and disability community services sector.
We are seeking experienced Community Transport Drivers to join our teams based at Lawson and Blacktown. The successful applicants will be employed as a casual driver. The Community Transport Driver will be responsible for the provision of safe, reliable and quality transport services including:
- Medical appointments
- Social and Group Outings
- Shopping trips (groups)
- Individual appointments
This role would be suited to someone who sincerely wants to improve the lives of those who are transport disadvantaged. A friendly chat on the way to an appointment can make someone's day.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for the role, you will need to:
- Provide a cover letter with your resume detailing your suitability to the role
- Minimum LR licence (or in the process of upgrading your current licence).
- Have a suitably clean driving record.
- Undergo a NDIS Worker Check & renewal every five years with satisfactory outcome.
- Undergo a Working with Children Check & renewal every five years with a satisfactory outcome.
- Be vaccinated in line with Department of Health recommendations.
- Have a Bus Driver Authority (or in the process of obtaining one)
Preference will be given to candidates that have a current Driver Authority issued by Transport for NSW.
In addition to the above skills, you must be able to demonstrate highly developed driving skills, good communication skills, sound judgement, a focus on results and the willingness to use your initiative.
Being familiar with using emails, internet and Windows Office would be an advantage.
