About the role
Responsible to source, secure and maximise total revenue for the Westin Brisbane and Four Points By Sheraton Brisbane, primarily across the MICE and groups market, with a focus on acquisition and retention of business.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role will primarily focus on pro-active sales and MICE and group lead generation to ensure The Westin Brisbane and Four Points By Sheraton Brisbane is the hotel/events market leader in Brisbane. This role directly drives revenue and increases market share across the segments of rooms, B&F, events, group FIT, spa and other revenue generating sources in line with Westin and Four Points by Sheraton Hotels and Marriott International’s brand standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the brand in all sales activities in line with Westin Brisbane & Four Points By Sheraton Brisbane Hotels and Marriott International’s corporate strategies with support from the DOS.
  • Drive pro-active sales activities for the Hotel, to ensure the Hotel continues to be positioned as THE top luxury hotel in Brisbane and THE lifestyle hotel in Australia, in conjunction with the Marketing, Sales and Catering Teams.
  • Develop, grow, sustain, maximise and yield business across the MICE segment to exceed budgeted revenue
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with Marriott International’s Global Sales Team network to maximise business for Westin Brisbane and Four Points By Sheraton Brisbane.
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships with (not limited to) key global, national and local corporate clients for events business, PCO’s and MICE agencies.
  • Produce Weekly Sales Report and maintain a 3 monthly calendar listing proposed calls as required.
  • Undertake and arrange Insider Tours and Familiarisation programs for clients across segmentations with strong potential to produce business for Westin Brisbane and Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane (this may involve time outside of normal business working hours and familiarisation weekends)
  • Represent Westin Brisbane and Four Points By Sheraton Brisbane Brisbane and Marriott International at relevant functions and events which may include interstate/international sales trips
  • Participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events both within the hotel and those organised by industry domestically as directed by the DOS and signed off by the DOSM and GM.
  • Be fully versed across all relevant Marriott International loyalty programs to maximise business opportunities for Westin Brisbane and Four Points By Sheraton Brisbane.
About you!
  • Must have previous Five Star Hotel Sales Experience with a proven track record of achieving sales results.
  • Thrive on direct engagement with a vision to grow and develop yourself and the business
  • Have accommodation and all round various sales market experience
  • Be results driven and have a demonstrated ability to achieve targets
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skill
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • The highest level of professionalism and presentation
  • Higher Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Business Management and/or Hotel/Tourism Managemen
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hotel sales environment required
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of experience across various market segments with particular focus on MICE, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a high attention to detail.
