Compliance and Investigations Officer (Casual)

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world - the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is host to more than 70 major events annually, attracting over four million patrons and visitors.
An opportunity currently exist within the Venue and Event Services team for casual Compliance and Investigations Officers to actively monitor and assist with the security posture of the MCG on event day and investigate issues associated with poor patron or member behaviour and child safety related incidents within the MCG. This role reports to the MCC Security Manager on Event Days. The core responsibility of the role is to liaise with MCC Event Staff and security personnel in the event of an incident on event days; and ensuring all incidents are effectively recorded, reported and investigated.
Other key duties within this position also include however not limited to:
- Liaising with internal staff and external providers including Securecorp security personnel, Stadium Management staff, MCC Security Manager, Event Supervisors and Staff
- Conducting pre and event security inspections of venue readiness related to security infrastructure and guard deployment, security screening procedures, traffic management installations, patron ingress and egress, and overseeing any penetration testing / exercising
- Interviewing witnesses and completing investigation reports
- Producing excellent quality reports based on an investigation process
- Producing summary report of all incidents
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a reliable team player, that has exceptional skills in incident investigation, interviewing & reporting, with an eye for detail, that knows how to multi-task and prioritise their work load in a fast paced environment. In addition you will also need to demonstrate the following:
- Possess a current Victorian Security Licence
- Demonstrated skills in incident investigation and reporting (including interviewing, taking of witness statements, obtaining identification evidence and detailed note taking)
- A sound working knowledge of current Private Security act 2004
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building capabilities
- Self-motivation with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office suite and relevant systems related to health and safety
- Flexibility and ability to work on event days which includes after hours week days, weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster( refer to position description for more detail)
- Physically capable of performing roving inside and around the ground including use of stairs and working on high levels at the venue
