JMP Retail has been a market leader in the retail packaging industry for over 20 years. We are seeking a highly talented individual who is looking to join a progressive & innovative organisation.
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the execution of shipments & purchase orders in a timely manner. This is a varied and interesting role that will see you take the lead across all aspects of the Shipping & logistics department, with duties including but not limited to:
- Coordinating the import process for import shipments;
- Coordinating incoming orders and working closely with the shipping manager and sales team to ensure deadlines are met for arrival of stock;
- Maintain product and shipment data and documents;
- Ensure compliance to Australian Import requirements
- Keeping up to date on import regulations and updating processes as appropriate
- Data preservation and reporting for illegal logging compliance
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, warehouse, 3PL / freight forwarders to ensure deliveries are made on time and exceed client expectations;
- Placement of international & local purchase orders;
- Arrange deliveries of FCL, LCL & air freight to DC and direct to customer;
- Prepare & issue appropriate internal & external documentation;
- Prepare status and job reports;
- Produce reports and maintain internal database via Excel / SAP; and
- Perform a variety of ad hoc operational and administrative duties.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position;
- An understanding of shipping and import/export procedures;
- The ability to accurately input costings for imports and local purchases;
- A good understanding of container consolidation;
- An excellent understanding of foreign currency and interaction with imports;
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation and presentation skills;
- Microsoft applications – Intermediate Excel & Outlook skills;
- SAP EXO– experience will be beneficial;
- Highly developed organisational skills are essential;
- Ability to prioritise work objectives depending on importance;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Can work independently with minimal supervision; and
- You must be proactive, energetic, have a team-based thought process, have a solid work ethic & be able to communicate openly & effectively, both written & verbal.
