Your Opportunity

As the Higher EducationCompliance Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead compliance focused projects as part of the TEQSA and professional course accreditation requirements for new courses and continuous improvement on existing courses
  • Provide supervision and support to regional teams with regards to Higher Education program development.
  • Ensure that Higher Education projects are delivered within the agreed parameters, with effective governance and organisational management activities. 

This position reports to the Dean, Higher Education

This is a Permanent Full Time position.

The position will be based primarily at South Bank Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high level project management skills to manage and support the TAFE Queensland Higher Education planning, scheduling, management and communications related to legislative and TEQSA compliance requirements as well as professional accreditation requirements  
  • Prepare project plans and applications to effectively and efficiently meet TEQSA compliance requirements as well as professional accreditation requirements. 
  • Manage successful implementation and completion of identified Higher Education Compliance projects in a timely manner, utilising project management skills both individually and collaboratively with team members.
  • Engage with the Higher Education team as well as regional team managers to develop systematic processes and plans for projects, incorporating change management activities that support a successful implementation of new and/or improved Higher Education programs and courses.
  • Liaise with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including regional management teams through all stages of the project lifecycle to achieve the projects outcomes.
  • Provide advice, guidance and assistance in defining, developing and maintaining detailed business technical design requirements.
  • Manage associated contractors against the project deliverables and solution specifications ensuring these are delivered in accordance with the agreed project parameters.  
  • Monitor and report on the critical aspects of projects, including achievement of deliverables, performance of schedule, financial performance and risks and issues to achieve desired outcomes within budget and resourcing constraints. 
  • Manage and identify issues and risks, within and across the scope of Higher Education, throughout the project and ensure that suitable governance is in place to mitigate potential non-compliance.
  • Ensure project deliverables are delivered within agreed timeframes.
  • Establish and manage project governance, associated reporting, change and escalation processes required to effectively govern agreed projects.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to Higher Education compliance regulation and accreditation requirments. 
  2. Demonstrated ability to be outcome focused and apply contemporary project management practices to provide expert advice to project governance committees, management and executive to provide optimal outcomes for TAFE Queensland Higher Education
  3. Demonstrates well developed project management skills with the ability to develop, manage and implement project plans to achieve desired outcomes within budget and resourcing constraints.
  4. Demonstrated leadership and management skills required to manage vendor performance as part of managing successful projects. 
  5. High level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to sustain productive stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with executives, staff and diverse stakeholders, both internal and external to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
  6. Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects to a high standard, including the execution of effective communications, organisational change management and governance strategies.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Higher Education experience in a Compliance Manager/Officer role, or similar
  • Tertiary qualification at Bachelors level or higher 
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills or ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills along with strong attention to detail
