COMPLIANCE MANAGER STRATEGIC PROJECTS - 6 Month Maximum Term Contract

Join our team as a Compliance Manager Strategic Projects at The Star Brisbane.
The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia's newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.
The Compliance Manager Strategic Projects, reporting to the General Manager Compliance, offers a unique opportunity to support The Star with its Opening of The Star Brisbane in 2024. You will be responsible for proactively identifying and responding to compliance considerations and will work with cross functional teams to establish the processes and controls necessary to support ongoing changes and reach milestones ahead of our opening.
A few of your responsibilities
Assist the GM Compliance to develop and implement the frameworks, policies and procedures to achieve compliance with The Star Brisbane's regulatory and compliance risk exposures.
Monitor and report compliance breaches at The Star Brisbane.
Oversee processes to identify the cause of breaches and the implementation of appropriate remedial actions.
Prepare reports and deliver presentations regarding the effectiveness of The Star Brisbane's compliance processes.
Coordinate and conduct Compliance Assurance reviews to validate compliance processes are followed correctly.
Support the Regulatory Affairs teams in interactions with the regulators as well as with other Business Units, as well as responding to Regulator Investigations and Audits.
What we will be looking for
Previous experience in a compliance role within a highly regulated environment is essential.
Excellent written communication and drafting skills, particularly in a compliance setting
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines, highly organised
A demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
About you
We are seeking an experienced compliance individual who has the proven ability to drive accountability and deliver results. You will be an innovative self-starter who works with a high level of initiative and autonomy. This position is a 6-month maximum term contract.
Previous experience within a highly regulatory environment such as the casino industry, banking, financial, professional services or government is essential to success within this role.
