Our client, a leading organisation in the financial sector, is seeking a skilled Compliance and Risk Manager to join their team in a highly engaged first-line role. This position is crucial in promoting best practices and ensuring robust risk management and compliance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on Risk and Compliance: Understand Clearing and Settlements of financial markets and provide guidance on risk, compliance, and control initiatives.
Embed and Enhance Frameworks: Integrate and improve Operational Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks into business-as-usual practices, aligning with best practices and regulatory standards.
Support Reporting and Compliance Plan: Assist with risk and compliance reporting, including meeting regulatory and audit requirements, and help develop and maintain the Compliance Plan, including testing compliance controls.
Data Quality and Analytics: Maintain high data quality in risk management systems and perform data analytics for business risk reporting.
Collaborate: Work with Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance teams for an integrated approach.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a Risk or Compliance function, with a strong background in managing, monitoring, and testing compliance. They should have a solid understanding of financial regulatory environments and possess excellent internal relationship-building skills. Proficiency in creating process flow charts, conducting risk and control analyses, and experience in conducting risk workshops or training sessions are essential.
Preferred candidates will have experience in the Australian financial industry and knowledge of financial markets products and risk and compliance frameworks. Interaction with Executive management, a broad understanding of project methodologies, and the ability to influence risk culture are highly valued. Additionally, knowledge of BCP/disaster recovery frameworks is preferred. Ideal candidates will be collaborative team players who promote knowledge sharing, think critically with an analytical approach, demonstrate strong business acumen, and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
