About the role
It's an exciting time to join Senex with the recent announcement that we plan to invest more than A$1 billion in a major expansion of our Atlas and Roma North natural gas assets.
We have an exciting, new opportunity available for four Compression Operatorsto join us in permanent, full time back-to back position based at our Atlas asset in Wandoan, which is located in the Surat Basin, QLD. Local residents are encouraged to apply however Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) or Drive-in-Drive-Out (DIDO) options are available.
Working a 15/13 roster, the Compression Operator will operate and maintain gas compression and dehydration facilities and associated plant and equipment.
Some of your day-to-day duties will include:
- The safe and compliant operation and maintenance of screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, TEG dehydration units, flare systems and ancillary balance of plant items including generators, instrument air systems, bulk oil handling, waste oil & water processing and process metering.
- Execution of the preventative maintenance plan for the facility.
- Optimise plant performance in terms of throughput and maintain the plant availability and reliability in line with set benchmarks.
- Lead and mentor Compression Operator Trainees.
For those living within 4 hours of Wandoan, a Drive-In-Drive-Out (DIDO) option is available for the successful candidate. FIFO out options are available from Brisbane only. Suitable candidates must have a full driver's licence and four-wheel drive training certification.

About You

Your ability to juggle priorities, multitask effectively, meet goals consistently, and keep a customer-focused approach makes you the candidate we're looking for.
Having your Certificate III in Process Plant Operations will be essential, along with the ability to showcase your understanding of the Petroleum and Gas Act and all relevant standards and codes of practice. Extra credit if you bring hands-on experience in the field, especially in Coal Seam Gas operations and maintenance.
Two positions will be filled by candidates who have a mechanical background and two will be electrical. Candidates must be able to confirm that they have a Certificate III in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) and have an electrical licence or equivalent mechanical certification.
Your reputation will be built on your technical expertise and your knack for assuming responsibility for projects, actions, and decisions. This skill set will be instrumental when offering technical support to field operators or collaborating with other teams.
