The opportunity 

As a Construction Loans Officer in our Settlements & Customer Service Division you will have the opportunity to learn many aspects of residential and commercial real estate construction lending.  You will gain essential skills for building a successful career in the financial services industry, with the opportunity to liaise with various stakeholders. 

Reporting to the Manager of the Progress Payments team, your primary responsibility will be to accurately process loan progress payments within required timeframes and provide our borrowers with exceptional customer experiences throughout all stages of the construction process. 

You will work alongside fellow Construction Loans Officer collaborating with them to maintain the high performance of our construction and development portfolio, which is in a strong phase of growth and opportunity. 

The key responsibilities include: 

• Review and prepare progress payments in accordance with La Trobe Financial’s policies and procedures and adhere to all legislative requirements
• Make decisions on fund release for small and large scale construction projects
• Ensure all necessary documentation is received and satisfies requirements of outstanding conditions prior to each advance of funds
• Ensure a high level of customer service, communication and professionalism is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders at all times
• Always represent La Trobe Financial in a professional manner and consistently demonstrate La Trobe Financial’s corporate values.

About you:

You are a highly motivated and numerically minded individual who:

• displays proven skills with a range of computer systems (including Excel and Word)
• has excellent time management and problem-solving skills

Prior knowledge and/or experience with mortgage settlements or a general understanding of the construction & building industry will be beneficial but not essential.
