Construction Manager

Downer has a long history of delivering transport infrastructure projects under a variety of contracting models. Services include the design and construction of light rail, heavy rail, bridges and roads, as well as track and station work, signalling and rail safety technology.

Our Northern Infrastructure Business have an opportunity for a Construction Manager to join the Northern Infrastructure Projects team in QLD.

This role will see you managing all elements of construction within the project, including the management of suppliers and subcontractors, including any staging, temporary works, and traffic management requirements. Ensuring that effective systems are implemented and utilised which deliver defined business objectives whilst ensuring overall compliance to regulatory and customer requirements.

About You

• A degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in a similar role.
• Substantial experience in construction, management within a road and / or railway environment.
• Demonstrated ability in proactively build relationships with key stakeholders and develop new business opportunities.
• Management experience (general and operational) with capability to develop business / project plans and delivery responsibility.
• Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement business solutions.
• Technical aptitude, good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to structure appropriate solutions to meet client needs and address problem areas.
• Ability to lead others to deliver on agreed outcomes with strong bias for talent development of self and others.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
