About the Role
An opportunity has become available for a Construction Manager for Downer's Industrial Energy business unit reporting into the Project Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning and control of construction activities, ensuring that site works are completed to the client's satisfaction and in accordance with safety, sustainability, quality, time, and other business objectives.
About You
- Technical or Trade Certificate in relevant discipline and/or relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the construction industry - with significant oil and gas industry experience
- The ability to identify and assess interface requirements in relation to the project construction schedule
- Troubleshoot and identify construction and engineering design issues and recommend improvements
- Direct and control construction activities to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that key milestone dates are met
- Manage labour relations and coordinate with the representative groups to ensure a harmonious workplace relations
- Delegate functional responsibility to all superintendents and supervisory and craft including subcontractors for the frontline Zero Harm, quality and schedule requirements
- Manage compliance to relevant statutory and client documentation
- Be willing to work a 19:9 roster
