Construction Project Superintendent

As Construction Project Superintendent you will be responsible for assisting with the management of key client projects in construction or extension of roadworks – both sealed and unsealed. Depending on the client’s requirements, these may include culvert structures over obstacles or subterranean water way, extension of sealed road intersections or crossroads or variation to existing road to enable variation to the angle of approach etc.

 The role is based in Collie, on a 2:1 or 5:2 roster depending on candidate.

• Assisting with the co-ordination and completion of projects on time
• Understanding of and executing the works required from the approved drawings and plans. 
• Testing and ensuring that certification of the project is attained.
• Estimating and budgeting for the works; oversee projects, set and meet deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor project progress and quality.
• You will assist in preparing and presenting reports to customers and the Cardinal Contractor Management Team on agreed intervals.
• You will liaise with internal and external contractors and client, to ensure all expectations and requirements are completed efficiently and on time. 
• You will assist in the co-ordination of internal resources and third-party contractors to ensure the successful execution of the project on time and within budget; assist in the definition of project scopes (if required) and objectives and ensure all relevant stakeholders and personnel remain informed about the progress of the project. 
• You will assist in ensuring resource availability and allocate personnel accordingly to ensure smooth operation during the duration of the project.
• You will provide advice, guidance and direction to the Project Supervisor and/or Leading Hand regarding resources and personnel.

• A minimum of 6 years in a similar role with proven project management / supervisory experience
• Hold a qualification in Project Management (advantageous)
• Have the ability to manage the scope, duration and budget of a project or multiple projects simultaneously
• Adhere to strict safety, accident and reporting procedures
• Good knowledge and practical application of workplace Occupational Health & Safety
• Have the ability to pass pre-employment medicals and drug and alcohol screening
• Have a current, acceptable National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months)
• Experience in working in a fly-in-fly-out role (FIFO) or DIDO role is advantageous
