The health service provides health care to Central Queensland that covers a catchment area of approximately 250,000, a number which is expected to continue to grow.
Exciting opportunity to be part of the recently expanded Cancer Care Services in Central Queensland. The Specialist will cover adult patients with malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders in outpatient clinics, day therapy unit and inpatients.
Provide consultation advice to clinicians from other departments, participate in haemovigilance activities, multidisciplinary team meetings and teaching medical students and junior doctors. There may also be opportunities to work within the private sector

Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABIM certified) or New Zealand

Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. Specialist Medical Services include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthesia. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland. A new Cancer Care Unit provides care for local patients, with state-of-the-art equipment and services.
