You will provide specialist Intensive Care medicine to adult medical/medical subspecialty, surgical, obstetric, and toxicologic patients within Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit. The position is for a six-month fixed term part -time position.The Position
- Manage the ICU and HDU team, including trainees, nursing, and ancillary staff.
- Collaborate with local and outside hospital medical and surgical specialists.
- Admission, management, discharge and transfer of ICU/HDU patients
- Twice daily bedside rounds
- Participates in twice weekly multidisciplinary rounds.
- Participate in evening, night and weekend shifts as per the roster, participating on the on-call roster for
- Afterhours management of ICU/HDU patients and assists hospital-wide with unstable patients or complex.
- Participates in the training and supervision of ICU trainees, nursing staff, and ancillary staff.
- Lead ICU outreach and Medical Emergency Response team.
- Theatre, ward and ED consultations
- Total parenteral nutrition support
- Intra-hospital and inter-hospital transport of critically ill patients
- Provide specialist Intensive Care services to patients within the hospital.
You will have Registration by the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand
