ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Brief Intervention Team provides primary consultation services to consumers and secondary consultation services to primary health care and other important stakeholders in the community.
The Brief Intervention Team (BIT) aims to:
• Provide short term support to consumers needing mental health input.
• Link clients to relevant community resources and support in establishing on-going services post discharge.
• Facilitate a seamless recovery journey from referral source to collaborative community support in a timely manner
• Tailor mental health care and support for people to make and participate in decisions about their individual recovery whilst respecting their autonomy and promoting empowerment.
• Minimise the need for ongoing tertiary mental health support in collaboration with the referred person, significant people and primary care providers
Summary of the role:
- Part-Time (up to 56 hours a fortnight).
- Based at the Wyndham Clinic, Hoppers Crossing, but works across the Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing Services.
Will provide clinical leadership to Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing Service Brief Intervention Team.
Provide clinical oversight and input to consumers of Mercy Mental Health and Wellbeing Services
- The incumbent may be required to work extended hours on evenings and weekends and participate in the on-call and ECT roster.
ABOUT YOU:
- Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Administrative and organisational experience within the public mental health system
- Have a current Victorian Driver's Licence.
