What You Will Be Doing
The Frankston Adult Community Mental Health Team is a specialist multidisciplinary and integrated service that provides care coordination through a Recovery orientated model for persons aged 25 - 64 years experiencing severe and persistent mental health disorders. The team provides a broad range of treatment, case management and care interventions of the right intensity and duration, early in the illness pathway and in the illness episode. The Frankston Community Mental Health Team may be involved with a client for extended periods of time or may provide more episodic care.
The Consumer Peer Worker role has been developed specifically for people with a personal experience of mental health challenges and recovery to provide holistic support to people accessing community mental health services and supports. Peer Workers are empathetic listeners who promote hope, choice and connection in their relationships with others.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Personal experience of mental health challenges or distress and recovery
- Recognition and understanding of own experiences and ability to use this to support consumers
- Ability to use lived/living experience expertise to support the work of the multi-disciplinary team and ensure practice is sensitive to the needs of consumers, families and carers
- Commitment to working collaboratively with relevant services providers and community groups

- Please refer to salary circular for VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021-2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
