Form of workMEDLOG is the land transportation and empty container park operator for our parent, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), one of the largest shipping companies in the world. We are proud to announce the expansion of our Oceania operations with our newest facility operating from Fisherman Island, Port of Brisbane.
MEDLOG have an exciting opportunity and we are seeking an experienced full-time Container Controller who is punctual, reliable, passionate and possess experience with Container Chain and 1-stop.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Liaison between transport and customer service teams
- Maintain stock levels
- Managing empty container dehires
- Maintain staff resources to cover bulk runs and leave
- Validate import bookings details as supplied by shipping lines to ensure data is correct via Container Chain
- Ensure all data for container movements is accurately recorded and maintained
- Keep up to date on re-directions and changes of opening hours and communicate with customers to ensure efficient coordination of the yard and traffic flow
- Managing container inventory, invoicing
- Assist and support other team members and departments when required
- Liaise with customers daily on container repairs requirements
- Ensure detailed shift handover is completed at the end of each shift
- Leading, mentoring and developing your team to exceed all goals set from yourself and the Management team
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar leadership role
- Knowledge of Container Chain Systems and 1-Stop
- Strong leadership and team engagement skills
- Ability to make timely and sound decisions whilst working under pressure
- Hands-on leadership approach
- Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills
