Digital Platforms and Products Branch provide the wholesale digital platforms and services that underpin the department’s retail digital products and corporate systems. We provide the architectural guardrails for design and implementation of digital systems in the department to ensure sustainability and enable innovation. We drive and support the adoption of DevOps practices to enable faster and more robust delivery of IT systems, including the uplift of testing practice. We manage digital platforms and products relating to Information and Records Management, ERP Systems and Web Systems.
The External Digital Identity team of the Digital Platforms and Products branch within the Digital Services Division seeks the expertise of an experienced Content Designer to research, drive and create effective media content such as graphics, animation, illustrations, diagrams, presentations, videos, and internal and external digital service interfaces and services designs.
The Job
The duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Working with other disciplines within the team to create content that is easy for users to understand, at the time that they need it.
- Working with other disciplines and stakeholders outside of the team to create content that is aligned to department and project outcomes.
- Working with the Digital Transformation Initiatives branch, namely the Export Services account team to research, design, develop and continuously evolve the internal and external user interfaces and driving consistency with the third-party experience.
- Working with the API and Integration team and subject matter experts to create content solutions for the third-party developer portal and internal engagement application.
- Leading creative development for all graphic design work and ensure quality outputs for work areas.
- Providing a range of graphic design services and ensure brand implementation across all medium.
- Strategically managing and prioritising competing issues and activities.
- Providing professional and technical advice and services in relation to content design.
- Managing multiple design projects at one time and deliver to a high standard.
- Providing advice to subject matter experts on design solution options.
- Presenting information to ensure the intended audience can effectively and efficiently understand the intent.
- Collaborating closely with user researchers, service designers, developers, and others to embed content into the right point in the user journey.
- Contributing and participating to Agile ways of working.
- Undertaking tasks as required by the team.
Knowledge and experience
- Experience in undertaking research and using evidence to inform design and content.
- Examples of ability to visually represent complex strategic concepts.
- Strong track record working in an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Strong track record collaborating with developers, designers, user researchers and policy staff, with public sector experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Understand and demonstrate awareness of Agile methodology and can apply an Agile mindset to your work.
