Who is Bare?
Bare is a venture-backed, direct-to-consumer startup disrupting the one of Australia's longest standing institutions - the funeral industry.
We are a company dedicated to providing accessible, affordable end of life care to change the way that Australians deal with death. Our aim is to change the game in the funeral industry which has long provided expensive, traditional, cookie cutter services that don’t always meet the needs of the modern Australian.
By combining empathy with technology, we’re creating end-of-life experiences that are simple, personalized and affordable. In only four years, we’ve served more than 30,000 families, have become Australia’s most awarded end-of-life provider (with awards in customer service, innovation and digital disruption), and have built a team of more than 100 people committed to changing the way Australians deal with end-of-life. And we’re just getting started.
As part of this mission, we’re looking for a hands-on Content Designer to join the team and help us scale - and we’d love you to consider joining the mission.
So what is the role, exactly?
We are looking for an experienced Content Designer to support Bare’s growth within Australia.
Reporting to our VP Marketing, as our Content Designer your responsibility will be focused on growing Bare across our key target markets across both offline and online channels through the production of compelling, educational and on brand content.
The role will have a specific focus on growing awareness within the healthcare industry, an important sector for Bare, as well as helping grow Bare via the optimisation of our key digital touchpoints of our customer database and website.
Practically, your day-to-day would involve:
- Ownership of our marketing website content and copywriting, including developing content hypotheses for AB testing for ongoing conversion rate optimisation across our brands.
- Ownership of content within email marketing and the brand custodian of content being distributed across our customer journey.
- Partnering with thought-leaders and knowledge owners within the business to produce educational content for diverse audiences including our Bare families and healthcare staff - this may be in the form of brochures, booklets, short videos (supported by our video producer), webinars or educational events.
- Supporting the VP of Marketing on developing content-led campaigns.
- Supporting the Product team in the production of educational content within our Next-Of-Kin product.
As a start-up in an ever growing team you may also support projects and campaigns outside of the above as we evolve our ever-growing marketing mix.
Ok, sounds great. Who are you looking for?
We’d love you to have:
- 4+ years in a similar role
- Exceptional communication skills: You’re able to clearly articulate yourself verbally and in writing both for internal communication to stakeholders and externally to partners and customers
- Strong copywriter: this role will take the lead on copywriting for both our website (excluding our blog) and email campaigns, and we are looking for someone with strong experience in copywriting for diverse audiences
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with web designers and developers
Previous experience in the healthcare or start-up industries is desirable but not essential.
Most importantly, we want someone who believes in our mission. Everyone at Bare is driven by the impact of what we’re doing, we want to make sure that continues with every new hire that joins our team.
Interstate travel may also be required for this role.
What’s in it for me?
This isn’t your ordinary role, in your ordinary company. Someone in the marketing team recently described their team as “the best team, with the best manager, I’ve ever worked with. I just can’t believe how much I love it”. So, there’s that. In addition, we offer:
- great opportunities for personal growth, promotion, and career development
- the ability to work-from-home - with lots of autonomy and flexibility
- a friendly, fun, and supportive environment - people love what they do at Bare
- a competitive remuneration package (with perks!)
- the change to make a real, human impact
The main reason you will join however, is because you believe in what we do and are excited about truly transforming an industry.
