The Grinders Supply Chain Team is based in our Roastery in Fairfield, Victoria. Supply Chain compromises an array of function under its banner and the reach extends from procurement of both green beans & finished products to customer deliveries.
About your new role…
We have a wonderful opportunity to join our Grinders Supply Chain team who is based in our Roastery in Fairfield, Victoria, in this exciting role of Continuous Improvement Lead. Our Supply Chain team compromises an array of function under its banner and the reach extends from procurement of both green beans & finished products to customer deliveries.
You will have an opportunity to champion Continuous Improvement initiatives across Site, Manufacturing, Capability, Warehouse, and Distribution for Grinders Coffee.
Additionally, the role provides hands-on support for manufacturing processes and to troubleshoot mechanical issues using structured problem-solving techniques. This also aligns closely with ownership of maintenance activity on site, including developing the maintenance technician (direct report).
What will you be doing?
- Identify and deliver Engineering focused change initiatives and solutions.
- Manage and lead activities involved in the identification, evaluation, scoping, planning, approval, financial control and implementation of a wide range of Manufacturing/ Warehouse/ Distribution Capability and Site improvement projects.
- Optimise return on capital investment by ensuring that the immediate and future needs of Grinders Coffee are met/exceeded in regards to safety, cost, quality, environment and service levels through excellence in project delivery
- Use Lean manufacturing principles to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods and eliminate waste.
- Design and implement improvement to line layout and equipment to optimise safety, capacity and cost efficiency outcomes.
- Review asset breakdown data and develop a sound strategy to action recurring defects.
- Consult with vendors to discuss initiatives and potential solutions. Includes coordination of purchasing of equipment, materials, or parts.
- Support delivery of the site’s Maintenance/ Asset Care plan. Lead and own asset maintenance plans, identify and eliminate inherent reliability problems on key equipment and lines.
- Optimise plant reliability and uptime via activities including real-time monitoring of production activity, delivery of innovative solutions, and partnering with production to maximise throughput.
Let’s talk about you!
- Tertiary Qualification in Industrial, Mechanical or Production/Manufacturing Engineering
- Strong problem solving ability and a passion for innovation
- Experience in project planning, optimization and implementation for processes, material flows, layouts, production equipment preferrable
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process development and project engineering
- Experienced in coaching/mentoring reliability and operations team members.
- Maximo (or similar maintenance planning applications)
- SAP exposure would advantageous
- AutoCAD or similar CAD software
